Shaving against the grain with electric shavers - Yes or no?

Hi Buddy, thanks for your videos. They are really helpful.

Im new to electric shavers and I have just bought the Braun 790cc. On one of your videos you mentioned not to go against the grain but with the grain but I noticed you making up and down motions. Doesn't making upside motion same as going against the grain?

Before watching your videos, I used Braun 790cc and I did not get better results going with the grain. And then I tried up and down motion which gave very good results but I felt my skin getting very rough which I never felt before.

The reason that I have switched to electric razor is that I have ingrown hair and get bumps often. My dermatologist recommended.

Your suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Yes with electric shavers you should shave against the grain. My video on how to use an electric shaver actually advises you to shave against the grain.

Shaving against the grain may cause some irritation for the first few times, maybe even first few weeks, but you should get used to it. This is one of the main advantages with using electric shavers because you can get a very close shave with little irritation.
