Electric Shaver Reviews in Price Categories

How much do you want to spend?..

Electric shaver reviews in your price range are essential for finding yourself the right shaver.

Reviews by other consumers are great resources for trying to find any type of product, and the best thing to do is match them with your budget.

No matter what others say, if it doesn't fit your budget, it's not worth reading about. Even if it had one thousand "5 out of 5 star" reviews, it doesn't make a difference. In fact, that would be one thousand reviews read for no reason.

That's why I have gathered the best rated models based on customer reviews and my own personal experience, and have split them up into different price ranges.

But please keep in mind that price isn't everything. You still need to consider your type of facial hair.

Most Expensive

Panasonic Arc 5 - ES LV81 K and LV61 A

If you want to stay up to date on the newest and most expensive model, this is it!

Yes you're paying more, but you are getting a better product. The extra 5th blade does improve the overall shaving performance, and anyone with a thick beard will appreciate it.

Most people probably don't need this powerful of a shaver, but if you want the biggest and baddest model, check out this review.

Above 100 Dollars

Braun Series 7 - 790cc

The Braun Series 7 really has it all. If you want a complete shaving system, this is it.

I normally don't talk too much about specific features because sometimes they're over-marketed, but I must say there's something special about the "sonic technology" in the Series 7 models. In my opinion it produces the most comfortable shaves.

Not only does it have some of the best features and technology, but it also has received a stamp of approval from most of its users. It continues to get excellent reviews over and over.

Based on my personal experience with this shaver, it's one that I will continue to recommend.

After testing out many products, I do notice that this model has an edge in the dry shaving performance category.

Panasonic ES LA93 K

This Panasonic shaver is another complete shaving system that I highly recommend.

It's very powerful and has the nice feature of being able to use it wet with shaving cream. If you're into wet shaving, I would recommend this over any other model.

Another great thing is that it's very easy to clean. The foil cap on the Panasonic ES LA93 K pops off very easily and cleaning it manually is super simple.

Because it's easy to clean manually, I also recommend it to those who don't want to spend extra money on the cleaning system.

This will allow you to save a bit of money by only buying the razor itself.

Overall it gets a big thumbs up!

Philips Norelco 1250xcc/42 SensoTouch 3D

This Philips Norelco system is very high tech. One feature that makes it stand out is its wet and dry design just like the Panasonic models.

If you want to use a rotary shaver with shaving cream, you can. The cleaning system automatically cleans, charges, and dries the razor making it very hygienic.

Many users have reported that they get an extremely close finish with this product.

I personally like the wet option better than the dry one with this model, and therefore would recommend it for anyone looking to use a rotary design wet.

If you're use to this design it could be a good match for you, however based on my personal experience, I recommend new users to stick with a foil option like the Braun Series 7.

Under 100 Dollars

Products retailing for under 100 dollars might not give you a complete system, but customer reviews reveal that they do their jobs very well.

You will get excellent value for your money in this section. I have found that the best value for money comes from Panasonic because they seem to be priced a little lower than other brands. Or maybe it's just that they have many options around and under the $100 mark.

Braun also has a model which I highly recommend in this price range. Either one of these models is a really good option for those with medium to thin facial hair.

Panasonic ES 8249 S

This is actually a full shaving system but it's priced much lower than other units.

The cleaning system isn't as high tech as some of the other more expensive shavers, but the shave itself is very comparable.

Many users have reported that they get an extremely close shave with this product and I would have to agree. This is very similar to some of the top selling shavers but it's priced much lower, making it one of the best choices.

Because of the price and closeness of the shave, I believe this is one of the best razors for the money.

Braun Series 3 - 340 S4

This is a really good option in this price category.

The Series 3 range has a few models to choose from which allows you to get a full shaving system with a cleaning station, or just the basic dry razor option.

Because all the models are listed at a sales price, you don't have to spend too much more to upgrade for some extra features.

In terms of shaving performance I thought it did a really good job considering the price. It's not as good as the more advanced Series 7, but anyone with thin or medium facial hair growth can save a lot of money and still get really good results.

Under 50 Dollars

Remington F 4790

For around 50 dollars, you can't get a closer shave than you will with this model.

It delivers a super close finish, but it can be a little too close for some. I would advise people with very sensitive skin to avoid this one.

Yes it produces a really close finish, but it does produce a bit of irritation as well. But for under $50, you can't expect too much. In terms of closeness, it's great.

So if you want a bit more comfort you will just need to pay more.

Braun M 90

This retails for about 25 dollars.

Lots of consumers have given it very good reviews. It's designed for people on the go. If you tend to travel a lot, this is definitely one to consider. It takes 2 double A batteries so you can take it anywhere.

It has a foil design with a twist cap that locks and protects the foil. It's completely washable and comes with a precision trimmer.

Based on the price and consumer reviews, this is recommended...

However, those with thick beards won't get good results with it. If you need to shave very often, you should get a more powerful shaver.

Conclusion and Final Recommendations

One thing to keep in mind regarding all the reviews is the time it takes to adjust to a new product. For some people it can take a few weeks.

If you have never used an electric shaver before, don't be surprised if it's a little uncomfortable at the beginning. Your face needs some time to adjust.

Examining reviews in each price category makes a buying decision much easier. If you want the most complete and powerful shavers, the top section is for you. The Braun Series 7 and the Panasonic ES LA93 K have received excellent reviews. If they fall into your price range, they are recommended.

If you're looking to upgrade your current shaving equipment and under 100 dollars fits your budget, the second section is definitely for you. Many consumers have stated that these models have given them the best shaves they've ever had. Both the Panasonic ES 8249 and the Series 3 are recommended.

Remember, the cheaper the product, the less power it tends to have. For some people this is fine, but what I've found is that anyone who needs to shave very often should consider the more expensive models.
