Williams Lectric Shave Review

Many people have been asking me if a pre electric shave lotion works, so I decided it was time to give one a try.

I would have tried one eventually, it's just I haven't really needed to. I personally don't get irritation when dry shaving, so I never felt I needed to use one.

However, I can honestly say that after testing these products, I might start using them more often.

Enter Williams Lectric Shave:

This is designed to help stiffen up your facial hair and make it sort of stand out before you shave. This is supposed to make your electric shaver more effective.

It contains some ingredients which are designed to reduce irritation and razor burn. So if your facial hair is eager to get shaved away, and you're applying a soothing type of liquid to your skin, the combination should result in better shaves.

This lotion comes in a 3 and 7 oz bottle, and if you shop online there's the option to buy them in "packs" to save a bit of money.

The regular version comes in a green color and seems to be the more popular "flavor", but it also comes in a blue color which will have a different scent.

My Personal Experience

How to use it:

These products should be applied before you do a DRY shave. So if you're wet shaving you can't really use them as they're intended.

Just rub the lotion into your face and neck area and wait 15 seconds before shaving. Once you're done, wash your face thoroughly.

For the review I applied the lotion and shaved with the Panasonic ES LA93 K.

After shaving with this product I must say I'm quite impressed.

My facial hair definitely stiffened up which made the shave a little bit easier.

I would certainly recommend this if you have facial hair which sometimes sticks or lies very tight against your skin and you have a bit of trouble shaving those areas.

Or perhaps you feel your shaver isn't really performing as well as it should. This pre electric shave lotion might just be what you're missing.

In terms of shaving irritation I don't really experience too much, so I didn't really notice that it help out with this, but many others have stated that it does reduce overall irritation.

A few points to consider:

One common complaint was the odor. Some people stated that it has a very unpleasant smell.

It is a bit strong, but I personally wouldn't say it's unpleasant. It doesn't smell like Calvin Klein cologne or anything, but I didn't find it unpleasant. It has more of a gentleman's type of scent.

So I don't agree that it smells bad, but it is strong, especially at first. When you first apply it to your face it has a powerful sensation but that quickly goes away.

I would say that if you're very sensitive to odors or strong scents then you might not enjoy using this particular product.

The other small issue is that it's hard to apply it to your face. It's a liquid so you can't rub it into your face like a cream, and this makes it a little messy if you're not careful.

My final thoughts:

I would recommend this to anyone who is experiencing irritation with their shaver, or is having trouble with shaving hairs which lie tight against their face.

Also, if you just want to try something new it's a product that you might really like. I tried it without having any issues with my shaving routine and was very happy that I did.

Remember, if you are very sensitive to shaving creams and aftershave scents, you might find it a little too powerful.
