Home > Braun > Series 1
Like with all shavers from this brand, there are a few models to choose from in each category.
Thankfully in this range there are only 3 model numbers floating around, however I always seem to miss a few.
According to some of the information found on the official website, certain shavers are listed for certain regions, however retailers always seem to carry all the models.
Also, there is sometimes a distinction between the 150 S, and just the 150, however this doesn't always match the retailer's specs.
I always recommend you shop at Amazon.com first if you can, especially over ordering directly from the manufacturer because of the savings, so for this comparison we'll use Amazon.com as our main reference.
There isn't much of a difference between the three models:
They are all equipped with Smart Foil which has received many positive reviews for its overall comfort. These are not as advanced as the Series 5 and 7 shavers which come with OptiFoil, however they are much cheaper.
They are generally recommended for beginners, and those who don't have very thick facial hair. Also, many people consider getting one for traveling purposes.
What are consumers saying?
For the most part, these get pretty good reviews.
A person's experience is always going to be unique, so there are a few mixed reviews out there. Some people compare it to other more expensive models, while others feel it's definitely not in the same league.
Bottom line, for the price, these are a good option if you're not used to the higher more powerful models, and you don't want to spend that much.
Who are these shavers for?
Braun recommends these shavers for beginners, and I probably would too.
Anyone who's just starting to shave, especially with these types of products will probably do well with these models.
They're good for beginners usually because "beginners" tend not to have very thick facial hair. So "non beginners" can find these shavers useful if they too don't have very thick facial hair.
I would say if your beard is pretty thick and you need to shave more than 3 or 4 times a week, you're better off upgrading to the Series 7.
The more advanced model has the better foil system, as well as the Patented ActiveLift which helps if you have facial hair which is tight against your skin. Bascially it's a better shaver, and recommended for thick beards.
But if you don't have much facial hair or you're just starting out, then try one of these lower end models.
