(Hollywood)
Hello. Have you had a chance to try out the new Braun 799cc-6 Wet&Dry shaver?
And/or can the 790cc-4 actually be used wet?
Still undecided about which razor to buy. The new Panasonic ES LV81 K looks interesting also.
Which one is better for sensitive skin, has the better cleaning system?
Thank you for any help.
Answer:
Hey there.
I haven't had a chance to test the Braun 799cc-6. I actually haven't heard too much about it because it seems to be only available in Europe at the moment.
In North America the 790cc is still the main Series 7 shaver. I checked Braun's official site and it looks like only the "Global" and Germany locations offer this model.
In regards to using the other Series 7 shavers wet, it's not recommended by Braun, however people do it. The shaver is fully washable, but it isn't "designed" as a wet shaver. I personally don't use it wet because it works dry so well, but others have told me that they use it wet and it's been fine.
Unfortunately at this time I don't really know much about the 799 and can't really say if the wet shaves are any better.
I've done a comparison review of the Braun Series 7 and the Panasonic ES LV models which you can check out here.
Basically the results are very similar between these two models, but if wet shaving is really something you want to do, then you should consider the Panasonic.
For sensitive skin it's a hard recommendation to make. Wet shaving with shaving cream is recommended with the Panasonic and if you feel that will be better for your skin then go with the ES LV. However some people would say that the Braun is slightly more comfortable which is ideal for sensitive skin. Again it's really close.
But in terms of cleaning stations, the Braun has a better one.
Check out the link above for more information. I'll include the quick video review here.
